Invitation to apply to the Executive Program “Youth in Politics: Governance and Political Systems; Public Policy and Skills Training ”2022

Executive Programs Youth in Politics: Governance and Political Systems ; Public Policy and Skills Training aims to train and build the capacity of young people active in political parties in Kosovo in areas such as rule of law, public policy, good governance, economic development and social policy, education policy, regional cooperation, etc. . By gathering young people from all political entities, this program will serve as a platform for equipping this group with knowledge in specific areas. Selected participants who will attend the regular training will be provided with a program certificate.

The language that will be used during the training is Albanian. In cases where one of the guest lecturers or speakers is not Albanian-speaking, then the Balkan Group will provide simultaneous translation.

Why this training?

  • It will increase the capacity of young people from political parties on topics such as public policy in Kosovo, good governance, regional cooperation, etc .;
  • The curriculum was compiled from requests made by youth of political parties in six (6) focus groups organized by the Group for the Balkans;
  • The main topics will be taught by senior professors;
  • It will provide a platform for cooperation and communication between young people from different political parties;
  • Participants will be provided with certificates which will be presented at the end of the program;
  • Building communication and collaboration skills;
  • Development of critical thinking;
  • Development of negotiation skills;
  • Upon successful completion of the training, you will become part of the Alumni Network “Youth in Politics” within which there will be numerous activities;

ATTENTION: Within the Alumni Network, the participants of training will be offered the opportunity to apply for paid internships, at the Parliamentary Groups of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

Eligibility criteria:

  • To be an active member of one of the youth political forums in Kosovo;
  • Age 20-30 years;
  • Be at least in the second year of university level studies;
  • Have an interest in policy topics;
  • Be able to attend four days of training, according to the dates below;
  • Be cooperative and open to working with young people from other political parties;
  • Be committed to participating in a one-day local visit to one of the institutions;

NUMBER OF SELECTED PARTICIPANTS WILL BE LIMITED

The training will be held in two separate groups. First group will be held on May 17-20, while the second group on May 24-27, at RIT Kosovo facility (former American University). Please during the application specify in which group you will participate.

The Group for the Balkans will cover all costs training, including:

  • Local transport costs;
  • Food and refreshments throughout the training;
  • For participants from abroad Prishtina, we will cover the costs of accommodation;
  • Study materials;
  • Transport, food and drink for the local study visit

COVID-19

The Group for the Balkans will take all necessary measures to create a safe space for the health of participants and experts. This will be made possible by creating distance during trainings, holding trainings in large halls, the obligation to wear masks, providing hand sanitizers for each participant, disinfecting the room of conferences as well as training materials.
