Title: Layout Designer & IT Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY:
Balkans Group is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Layout Designer & IT Administrator to join our team. As a Layout Designer, the ideal candidate should be a self-driven individual with a strong aesthetic eye and fundamental knowledge of layout, typography, and color theory for both digital and print. As an IT Administrator, the candidate should have basic knowledge and skills on IT Administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conceptualize, design, prepare and implement layouts for policy papers, reports and other publication;
• Conceptualize, design and implement all communication plans and activities of and other BPRG material, including social media posts designs;
• Develop innovative and creative ideas for eye-catching visibility of all BPRG policy papers and other material;
• Closely cooperate with the Communication and Outreach Officer in visualizing web and social media posts for effective outreach;
• Closely cooperate with and assist researchers, advocacy team and other members in charge of policy areas and programs;
• Develop info graphics to present Balkans Group policy papers and data to best present its policy work;
• Maintaining, upgrading, installing, and configuring new hardware and software i.e. laptops, PCs, etc.
• Manage electronic equipment, maintain inventory of office supplies and the purchasing of new material i.e. purchase of external office services and supplies, equipment, logistics and maintenance;
• Ensure maintenance of proper electronic and paper filing systems;
• Create and update databases and records for financial information, personnel, and other data.
• Create HTML emails for invitations and newsletters;
• Support bookkeeping and budgeting procedures for BPRG;
• Provide administrative support in any technical, management, and other issues;
• Fulfill any other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director and other staff.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a layout/graphic designer.
• Proficient visual design skills in Corel, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Mail chimp, etc.
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Innovative and creative approach to layouts and designs.
• Ability to understand the concept and substance of policy papers and develop their visual design accurately.
• High degree of flexibility and willingness to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines.
• Experience with IT systems, networks, and related technologies.
• Problem-solving skills to handle and resolve technical issues with systems, hardware and software programs.
• Familiarity with office technology and equipment, including computers, fax machines, scanners, printers, phone systems, etc.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
