Increasing women representation in new institutions following the 6 October elections.

November 2019 – Balkans Group has addressed the winning political parties in the national elections, with a letter calling for increased representation of women in the soon-to-be-established institutions.

The winning entities, Vetëvendosje and The Democratic League of Kosovo, as well as their leaders, Albin Kurti and Isa Mustafa, and their leadership structures are required to:

Appoint more women to the presidency, parliamentary committees and other bodies of the new Assembly;

Increase the number of women in leadership positions in Government, agencies, boards and other government institutions;

Undertake additional actions to advance the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality in public institutions.

For more, see the full text of the letter.
