Training: Efficient use of Social Media and Communication with the Public

3 March 2020 – Balkans Group organised a social media training for women MPs and women Municipal Assembly members from various municipalities across Kosovo. The training was designed to equip women decision-makers with the necessary tools to increase their online presence and establish better communication with the public through social media.

Women MPs and Municipal Assembly members had the opportunity to learn practical examples on how to improve their online presence through two sessions. In the first session, women decision-makers were presented with the different format and definitions of social media, the effect of social media and approaches to networking and recognition.

During the second session, participants were informed on communication channels, target audiences and presence increase. The training concluded with a constructive debate among participants and the trainer, Mr. Oltion Beshiri, on best practices women decision-makers can learn from in order to build stronger ties with their voter base.

This activities is part of the “Fostering the Women Caucus’ role through regional outreach and establishing their relationship with the media” project, funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI)- an initiative of the Government of Canada.
