Women in politics and decision-making

Balkans Group is dedicated to fostering a gender-equal environment. We recognize that the underrepresentation of women in politics and decision-making represents a significant deficit in our democracy and institutions. Through advocacy campaigns, activities, publications, and other events, we are committed to ensuring that half of the population has equal opportunities and is represented in a balanced manner in institutions and decision-making positions.

One of our key activities is the “A Call for Change” campaign, which promotes increasing the representation of women in politics and decision-making, and aligning the Law on General Elections with the Law on Gender Equality. To strengthen democracy in Kosovo, Balkans Group conducts research and analysis on the adverse position of women and the lack of representation in politics and institutions in the country.

The representation of women in decision-making bodies remains low. We strive to reduce the gender gap.
