Balkans Group is seeking Junior Researcher(s) and Project Associate(s) for implementing a three-year project.

POSITIONS SUMMARY:
The Junior Researcher(s) & Project Associate(s) will be based in Pristina. She/he is required to have knowledge on regional cooperation and related-initiatives. In his/her role, she/he will lead the research, administer and ensure the effective implementation and coordination of project’s components.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist on research topics as per BPRG’ s policy agenda;
  • Assist on writing reports and articles for publication;
  • Assist colleagues in the development and implementation of organisational; communication and fundraising strategies;
  • Support implementation of project activities  relating to BPRG’s overall vision;
  • Assist on projects’ implementation through a shared matrix;
  • Support project staff regarding any potential deviations from the planned activities;
  • Support the development of programme proposals in coordination with project teams and in response to funding opportunities;
  • Support organisational, programme and project development;
  • Contribute/Support in the designing and planning of new projects and programmes;
  • Event planning, design and production, while managing all project delivery elements within the required timeframe;
  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality;
  • Organize and manage all event’s details such as preparing invitations, agendas, translation, promotional material, invitee’s list, location, special guests, etc;
  • Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities;
  • Cooperate with communication & outreach team to promote and publicize events;
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day;
  • Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes;
  • Other tasks as required;

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/MA degree in one of the following fields: international relations, social sciences, development studies, interdisciplinary studies, or other related studies;
  • Knowledge in designing both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies;
  • At least 1 year relevant professional experience and detailed knowledge in one or more areas of the Balkans Group;
  • Knowledge of key issues in Kosovo, the region, and EU-/international-related issues;
  • Strong research skills and ability to propose policy interventions;
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Albanian;
  • Ability to plan and work within the agreed timeframes;
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work well under pressure;  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment;
  • Deal and work with multi-tasks and agendas;
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
